I’m Veasna, a Cambodian monk living in Siem Reap. For 20 years, I’ve been living the monastic life and I’m happy to share my knowledge of Buddhism and Buddhist culture.
My name is Veasna, and I am a Cambodian Buddhist monk living in the beautiful and culturally rich city of Siem Reap, near the ancient temples of Angkor.
For the past 20 years, I have dedicated my life to the monastic path, embracing the teachings of the Buddha and the peaceful rhythm of monastic life.
Through years of study, meditation, and daily practice, I have gained deep insight into Buddhism, mindfulness, and Buddhist traditions, and I feel great joy in being able to share this knowledge with others. Whether you are curious about Buddhist philosophy, want to learn about Cambodian culture, or simply wish to experience the serenity of monastic life, I am always happy to welcome those who come with an open heart and mind.
Living in the heart of Siem Reap, I am surrounded by history, spirituality, and the daily lives of people who find meaning in the teachings of compassion, wisdom, and inner peace.
I look forward to sharing not only what I have learned, but also the spirit of kindness and simplicity that lies at the heart of Buddhism.
In today’s fast-paced and often stressful world, one of the most important lessons Buddhism offers is the value of mindfulness — the practice of being fully present in the moment.
Many people are constantly thinking about the past or worrying about the future, which leads to anxiety, dissatisfaction, and a lack of inner peace. Buddhism teaches us to pause, breathe, and bring our attention to the here and now. By doing so, we can experience life more deeply, appreciate simple moments, and reduce unnecessary suffering.
Mindfulness also helps us to better understand our emotions, respond more calmly to challenges, and live with greater compassion toward ourselves and others. In a world full of distractions, this ancient teaching remains more relevant than ever.
